I live on Ferme Park Road and currently the council are installing road safety measures at many points along the road. My house/flat sits at the edge of the new raised traffic platform at the junction with Ossian Road. In the initial consultation for these works, I raised my concerns about the affect that this particular traffic platform would have on my house - detailing that I was concerned that my flat would shake every time a bus or larger vehicle (van, truck or lorry) travelled off the platform which is located in front of my house. My concerns were based on previous experience over many years of my house shaking/ vibrating when vehicles travelled over potholes or imperfections in the road. <br/>You recently re-surfaced the road and we experienced no shaking or vibrations from the traffic outside. This significantly improved the quality of life for my family, enabling us to sleep properly (not waking when large vehicles created shaking and vibrations) and to no longer have furniture shaking.<br/>Whilst I know that the traffic platform has not yet been fully completed, I fear that the shaking and vibrations will now be worse than ever. At the moment my house shakes and vibrates every time a large vehicle travels over the raised platform. This is as frequent as every 5 minutes throughout the day. The vibrations stop me from falling asleep and I wake up just after 5 when the first buses begin again in the morning. I haven't noticed that the raised platform has slowed the traffic down, in fact vehichles speedover the platform making the descent and resulting vibrations particularly bad.<br/>I'm writing to share the daily discomfort that I am experiencing because of this new traffic measure. I understand that you are able to monitor the impact that traffic measures cause to buildings/residents (using equipment that reads vibrations) and invite you to come and experience this for yourself. <br/>I know that you work to improve the day-to-day experience of Harringey residents and hope that we can resolve this issue so that my family's wellbeing is restored by not having to live in a property that continuously shakes as a result of the new raised traffic platform. <br/>Many thanks.
