Haringey Council - Tottenham Hale

Description

We are the residents of 1 Heathway Villas, Factory Lane, N17 9AF.
Not long ago, we have complained about the need to erect bollards on the street located on the side of our semi-detached house to avoid cars driving into it and damaging the wall which is the section of our living room. The council has kindly looked into the matter , decided that this was an obvious hazard and safety concern, and erected the bollards on the street.

The issue now is that reckless drivers still drive into this section, two of whom drove through the bollard, snapping it in half. On one of these occasions, I've contacted you for a repair, and on the other I paid for the repair myself. Now it has happened again, and one of the bollards is totally bent and of no use.

These bollards have clearly failed to protect our home from the traffic, and the potential of harm that can result if someone drives into our house has not been resolved. This is a serious hazard and a potential risk to life if the worst-case scenario does present itself.

I would like to know if we can consider alternatives: what could we do to prevent cars driving into this property? Perhaps we can look to an alternative type of bollards that are larger in size and weight and that will not simply snap when someone drives into them?

I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,
Alper

21/01/2026 The tow path is a complete state. It is so riddled with pot holes and uneven surfaces that in places it is impossible to walk on when it's rained as it's so deeply puddled. I cycle and it's difficult in places to see how deep bits are. I see people with prams or old people stranded. It's such a shame and needs resurfacing urgently.

21/01/2026 Blocked drain for over 6 months. When rain drain immediately floods, have attached a photo after 2-3 hours of rain. Gully cleaning has happened few weeks ago and drain is still overflowing . Please sort it out, the drain is in a likely chance of flooding area so having a blocked drain only encourages the likely hood it will happen.
